The Victorian Asbestos Eradication Agency (VAEA) sets Victoria's long-term strategy for removing asbestos from government-owned buildings.

An independent body sitting under WorkSafe Victoria, we report to the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC.

Jane Brockington, Chair

A former senior executive in the Commonwealth and Victorian public sectors, Jane is sought as a non-executive director, independent reviewer and strategic adviser in the public and not-for-profit sectors. She works with organisations to strengthen regulatory design and practice and to improve governance and integrity. Having developed policy and delivered reform in complex environments, she focuses on how practical risk management supports better decisions and outcomes.

Julie Warren, Non-executive Director

Julie offers three decades of experience as an organiser, educator, negotiator and campaigner along with a deep understanding of workplace health and safety issues and the impact of a changing economy on individuals and communities. She also brings strong governance and stakeholder engagement credentials, including as Chair of WorkSafe Victoria’s People and Culture Committee and a member of its Finance and Audit Committee.

Ben Davis, Chief Executive Officer

At the VAEA, Ben builds on 30 years of leadership in political advocacy, policy development and stakeholder engagement. His extensive work across state and federal governments strengthens our mission to remove asbestos from public buildings. Ben has successfully driven complex negotiations, securing critical outcomes for industry and government. His expertise, strategic vision and commitment to health and safety are helping to deliver meaningful change and a safer future for Victorians.
